JOURNEY TRIBUTE

The Music

The music of Journey has touched the lives of hundreds of thousands of listeners around the world for nearly thirty years. Since December of 1973, when former members of Santana and Frumious Bandersnatch united to form a San-Francisco based backup instrumental group called the Golden Gate Rhythm Section, through the addition of Hanford native lead singer Steve Perry in 1978, and on to the latest evolution of Journey with L.A.-born Deen Castronovo and Brooklynite Steve Augeri, the Journey fans of Ohio, Arizona, Brazil, Japan, and everywhere in between have remained faithful to the sound, the emotion, the magic, of Journey.

This section of JRNYDV's Journey Tribute Page contains a list of all recorded Journey albums, a list of released singles and top-forty hits, individual album pages with track listings and an opportunity to purchase, and a brief history of the band. We hope that it will enhance your online Journey experience.

THE MEMBERS OF JOURNEY

A.K.A. "Ambassadors of Rock'n'Roll"

Since the founding of the band in 1973, eighteen people have been members of Journey. There have been three guitarists (one lead--Neal Schon--and two rhythm--George Tickner and Jonathan Cain), two keyboardists (Gregg Rolie and Jonathan Cain), six drummers (Prairie Prince, Aynsley Dunbar, Steve Smith, Larrie Londin, Mike Baird, and Deen Castronovo), four lead vocalists (Gregg Rolie, Robert Fleischman, Steve Perry, and Steve Augeri), three bassists (Ross Valory, Bob Glaub, and Randy Jackson), and two general managers (Herbie Herbert and Irving Azoff). The impact that each of these individuals has made on twentieth-century music is tremendous; many have produced successful solo albums and been members of other successful and important musical acts. But together, they constitute the evolution of Journey, and each has made the band and the music better for having been a member.

In this section, you will find individual band member profiles for each of the eighteen members listed above, as well as a variety of interviews--both with individuals and with several members at a time--that we have culled from various online sources. Enjoy!
